How do future WLCI projects fit in existing federal land management plans and operations?

The WLCI provides resources for various wildlife and habitat conservation projects. Initial projects on Federal lands have to fit within the scope of existing Federal land management plans. As this is a long-term initiative, over time some planning documents may require updating. The WLCI Coordination Team (CT) will address each project individually at the local level as the WLCI program progresses. The CT will stay apprised of any changes to existing planning documents. The WLCI planning process is driven by local input and project prioritizations provided by the Local Project Development Teams. The Support Subcommittee is composed of agency managers who can commit resources to projects. The subcommittee members help ensure projects fit within agency plans and can determine how to fulfill regulatory requirements, such as those mandated by the National Environmental Policy Act.
