What are the funding sources of the WLCI?

What are the funding sources of the WLCI?

Initial funding has come through Federal Appropriations. The U.S. Geological Survey received approximately $1.5 million in Fiscal Year 2008 (FY 08), $750,000 in FY 09 and $1.5 million in FY 10. The Bureau of Land Management received $400,000 in FY 07, $1.3 million in FY 08, $1.4 million in FY 09 and approximately $1.3 million in FY 10. The FWS received approximately $1.5 million each year in FY 08, FY 09 and FY 10. Funding has also been provided through the Ruby Pipeline Project for proactive work targeting sage-grouse and pygmy rabbit. Other sources of funding are being solicited and may include new State and Federal appropriations, special mitigation accounts, trust funds, non-governmental organization and industry contributions, cost shares, and other independent donations.

The State and local entities involved with the WLCI have an agreement with the Wildlife Heritage Foundation of Wyoming to manage and disburse contributed funds. You can contribute directly online from the Web site or download a donor gift form, complete it, and send a tax-deductible check or credit card contribution to the foundation at P.O. Box 20088, Cheyenne, WY 82003.
